Heritage Building - Residential Renovation

This project involved the redevelopment of a heritage building originally constructed in 1875. BESforma conducted a comprehensive assessment of the existing structure to support its adaptive reuse while preserving its historical character.

The design approach focused on balancing conservation with performance upgrades, addressing building code compliance, structural integrity, and long-term functionality. Particular attention was given to material preservation, ensuring that original elements were maintained and integrated within the new intervention.

The scope included structural upgrades, as well as mechanical and electrical system improvements to meet current standards. Energy efficiency strategies were incorporated to enhance performance while respecting the building’s heritage value.

The result is a renewed structure that extends the life of the building, aligning historical preservation with contemporary use requirements.
